Pre-listing, black-owned investment holding company, Mowana Investments (Pty) Ltd, holds a 23% stake in SA French.
SA French has also established The SAF Economic Empowerment Trust which benefits current and future black employees with more than six months’ uninterrupted service. The SAF Economic Empowerment Trust currently holds a 9% stake in the company bringing the total BEE ownership pre-listing to 32%.
SA French recently conducted a BEE scorecard self-assessment with a resultant level 7 rating. The company employs 80 permanent staff of whom over 90% are black.
On listing SA French will place shares with empowered investment houses to take the total BEE ownership post-listing above 25%.
